The Assassination of Lincoln, 1865
Abraham Lincoln was the 16 president of United States of America and the first who was assassinated.
John Wilkes Booth was responsible for his murder on April 14th, 1865 while watching the play Our American cousin at Ford’s Theater as the American Civil War was drawing to close.
He died early the next morning and his funeral and burial was a period of national mourning. John’s motive for the assassination was Lincoln’s speech in which he supported the idea of nigger citizenship.
