Niagara Falls during winter in the 19th century

During the 19th century, tourism became popular and the spectacular waterfalls became one of the most visited places on Earth.  The daughter of Vice-President Aaron Burr, Theodosia Burr Alston and her husband were the first recorded couple to honeymoon there in 1801. Napoleon Bonaparte’s brother also visited the place with his bride in the early 19th century. This is how the falls looked like back then.
