New mode of transport in the early 20th century

At first Kick scooters, a flat board on wheels with a long handle, were developed as a toy for children. They were produced in New York and Germany. The US Postal Service tested Autoped as a means for a special and a fast delivery system. Folding scooters used by bandits, were raced through narrow alleys in New York and staying beyond the reach of police cars. Some of these early designs of scooters were uncomfortable and difficult to manage. Gradually scooters have been modified: parking lights, brakes, pendants, shields for legs, etc. In 1930 scooters were introduced to the market as the ideal mode of transportation.
