Cher Ami, the homing pigeon that served in World War 1

Cher Ami is the famous homing pigeon who had been donated by the pigeon fanciers of Britain to serve the U.S. Army Signal Corps in France during WW1. Cher Ami’s name actually means ‘dear friend’ and she saved about 200 men, even though she was greatly injured. She particularly saved the Lost Battalion of the 77th Division in the Battle of the Argonne in 1918.
