Battle of Normandy, 1944

On 6th July 1944 in France, leading Invasion was the one of Normandy during World War II, by the Western Allies.

This invasion had the biggest marine amphibious operation in the history of Normandy, France.

More than 5.000 ships and over 10.000 planes took over 156.000 American, British and Canadian logs.

Under Dwight Eisenhower command, Allied forces established camp sites, despite strong German resistance and heavy losses on the beach.

Their air superiority prevented the rapid strengthening of the German forces.
