Annie Edison Taylor, the first person who survived going over Niagara Falls in a barrel in 1901

Annie Edison Taylor was a teacher and daredevil who was the first person to ride down Niagara Falls in a barrel on her 63rd birthday, on October 24th, 1901.

She survived, though she did not garner wealth from the event. She died on April 29, 1921.
